KC stands for us, Karine and Charles.

We connected with pickleball because it reflected so much of what we wanted our business and brand to represent: movement, fun, friendly competition, and a simple reason to step outside and share a moment with others.

Smash comes from that game we love — the one that first brought this vision to life.

But KC Smash was never meant to be only about the game.

We wanted KC Smash to grow from the same values that shape the life we’re building together: active but unhurried, fun but meaningful, welcoming rather than exclusive, honest rather than polished for appearances, and always centered on people, connection, respect, and being fully present for the life happening around us.

Building the life we had always envisioned took us far from family and longtime friends, and along the way we came to understand what it feels like when community is missing — and how much it matters when you finally find it.

That experience shaped the heart of KC Smash.

What started with pickleball has evolved into something bigger: a brand built around creating more opportunities for people to get outside, move together, and enjoy the moments that bring us closer.

At the end of the day, the product is only part of the story.

The moments we create together will always matter more than the things we create them with. What stays with us are the times when we feel connected, free to be ourselves, and fully present.
